The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) seeks applications to support the promotion of U.S. state, regional, and national collaboration and translation (including tribal nations, academic institutions and other organizations) to strengthen capacity building for occupational safety and health (OSH) surveillance and programs. The funded recipient will be expected to conduct educational and outreach activities, such as organizing conferences and webinars; promote surveillance data for action; monitor statistical and other trends and progress over time; promote the use of multiple-source surveillance data; and leverage partnership activities that reduce work-related injuries, illnesses, exposures, and fatalities in the U.S. workforce. The funded recipient is expected to organize annual national OSH surveillance meetings/workshops to highlight topics for national collaboration and translate/communicate findings from states’ OSH programs. The funded recipient is also expected to update and maintain an open-access, online repository for OSH health information and resources (i.e., a website or portal) that will contain state OSH surveillance data (Occupational Health Indicators), success stories, key contacts, “best practices” guides, toolkits, or other materials and communications such as policies, programs, and approaches to protect and improve the health of people who work.
