The purpose of the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) program is to improve the quality and safety of maternity care in birthing facilities by funding states and jurisdictions to implement patient safety bundles, which are a set of evidence-based practices, that when implemented collectively and reliably in the delivery setting, have improved patient outcomes and reduced maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity. Funds will be used at the state level to support enhanced data collection, expansion to additional state birthing facilities, and transition to support the implementation of new patient safety bundles.
