This project will continue a 10 year program that has sought to provide collaborative training, hands-on training and education for government, academic, and industry researchers. As such, the outcomes of the project are not limited to FDA (or interagency partners), but extend to both the research community (in order to better operate in high consequence environments for the development of medical countermeasures), and to the public at large, given that medical countermeasure research in high consequence environments lead to development and approval of medical countermeasures. Furthermore, given that expertise in this field extends beyond a single entity, but includes academic, industry and government subject matter expertise, the use of the cooperative agreement will facilitate the incorporation of all perspectives in development of course work, and the presentation of materials. Finally, use of the cooperative agreement mechanism facilitates the inclusion of regulatory guidance from FDA. To that end, use of the cooperative agreement has enabled two (2) prior grants of this type.
Categories: Consumer Protection, Food and Nutrition, Science and Technology and other Research and Development.
