Steinbeis University has been a state-recognized, private, independent university since 1998. In addition to offering bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, it also runs research programs in the fields of economics, management, technology, healthcare, and social affairs. The university primarily offers vocationally integrated and part-time degree programs.

The department of Leadership and Management at Steinbeis University is seeking an appointee to the following professorship temporary limited to 2 years at the work location in Herrenberg, to be filled  as soon as possible

Professorship in Leadership & International Business Law - part-time (51%)

Your experience to date:

  • A university degree as well as a doctorate in law
  • Experience in research, teaching and transfer in the field of law, especially legal issues related to leadership and management
  • Knowledge of the supervision of academic theses and oral final examinations
  • Participation in the development, evaluation and accreditation of study programs
  • Experience in mediation
  • Competence in the didactics and methodology of face-to-face and online teaching
  • Overview of university administration
  • Evidence of German language skills at C1 level. Evidence of C1-level English proficiency is desired.

Appointment requirements apply in keeping with Section 35 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (HSG LSA). In addition, and in keeping with Steinbeis University appointment regulations, candidates are required to have completed a doctorate with a minimum grade of magna cum laude, and provide evidence of particular achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in a vocational setting, with at least three years’ experience in a non-university field.

Your role:

  • Implementation and further development of teaching and transfer in master's programs in the field of law, especially legal issues related to leadership and management
  • Research in the above-mentioned areas
  • Scientific supervision of student research projects and theses
  • Administering oral final examinations
  • Participation in appointment committees for professorships
  • Participation in the development, evaluation of existing and accreditation of new study programs
  • Support of the university administration
  • Business trips, e.g. to the headquarters of Steinbeis University in Magdeburg

The lecturing requirement for a full-time position is the equivalent of 18 teaching units per week.
