Your responsibilities

Would you like to develop the technology enabling the future collider's particle detectors? In the electronics group of the Experimental Physics department at CERN, we are looking for a design and research engineer to develop and explore innovative methodologies for the analysis of on-chip power delivery networks.

In this context, you will:

  • Develop procedures, analysis, and design automation methodologies for power integrity challenges such as IR-drop-induced jitter.
  • Participate in the creation, optimization and analysis of on-chip power grids.
  • Share the knowledge in the High Energy Physics (HEP) community.

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Good knowledge of the full digital backend design flow using Cadence suite including Innovus, Tempus and Voltus.
  • Basic knowledge of digital and RTL design.
  • Software experience in Python and TCL.
  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
  • Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
