KAP Technical CAD/CAM Programmer Nottingham We are looking to invest in a talented individual who is looking for an opportunity where you can work with complex sheet metal parts, use modern manufacturing techniques, latest software and have the stability and longevity which will allow them to excel and progress further within the business. The chosen individual will support the business by creating offline programs for both new projects and existing which are then to be machined by 3-Axis Routers, 5-Axis Routers and Amada Turret Punches. You will be involved in developing blanks, proving out programs, providing technical support to shopfloor Fabricators and help identify new areas for improvement. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: * Work with 2D and 3D Cad packages - Catia V5 and AlphaCam * Perform Sheet Metal Drafting and 3D Modelling * Work on 2D nesting packages - for 3-Axis Routers and Amada Turret Punch * Work on improving and developing new 5-Axis Router Programs * Compliance to customer product requirements and process controls related to standards and specifications to define inspection drawings/requirements * Work closely with the Engineering and production teams to ensure that Cad Programs are utilising shop floor best practices * Develop new solutions to existing manufacturing problems * Provide support to the shop floor to resolve queries or issues in achieving capable processes or supporting process improvements * Define requirements for production concepts - work with Engineering Department to define best practices for any required tooling. Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate: * Strong CAD CAM Programming background * Performed similar duties in the capacity of - CAD CAM Programmer, CAD CAM Engineer, Offline Programmer, NC Programmer, CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Applications Engineer * Excellent knowledge of Catia V5 * Excellent knowledge of Sheet Metal processes including flattening and developing blanks * Exposure to a Fabrication Manufacturing environment would be hugely beneficial * Ability to perform reverse engineering on existing parts in order to identify improved manufacturing processes Job Type: Permanent. Salary: £25000 - £35000/annum.
