Eligibility will be restricted to organizations that receive less than $2 million per year of federal funds, directly or indirectly, and have a verified record of successful work in underserved communities. For the purpose of this award, "work" includes promoting environmental justice, building coalitions to advance health equity and conducting grassroot community education in underserves areas. These organizations will be requred to: Provide support and resources to community members and others affected by childhood lead poisoning to become engaged, involved, and recipient of lead poisoning prevention or lead hazard control resources and activities for eliminating childhood lead poisoning as a public health issue. Develop coalition(s) with multisector partners (e.g., community members, government agencies, and others) to build a vision and set of goals for eliminating childhood lead poisoning as a public health problem. Enhance local access by community members and others affected by childhood lead poisoning to existing childhood lead poisoning prevention programs (CLPPPs) and services. Enhance community members, government agencies, and others' skills and knowledge about childhood lead poisoning prevention and lead hazard control by conducting targeted outreach, marketing, or education. Inform community and policy development by providing leadership and facilitation in policy, systems, and environmental change to reduce/eliminate health inequities and environmental injustice.
