The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to invite applications for a Research Project Grant (U01) that will utilize health communication research to better understand the impact that messaging about the continuum of risk for tobacco products may have on various segments of the population. The NIH and the FDA have formed an interagency partnership to foster research relevant to tobacco regulatory science within the framework of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (FSPTCA). The award under this NOFO will be administered by NIH using designated funds from the FDA Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) for tobacco regulatory science mandated by the FSPTCA. Funds for this program have been made available through the FSPTCA (P.L. 111-31).
