OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to support a national membership and accreditation organization to provide training and technical assistance on the development and implementation of national standards for children’s advocacy centers (CACs). Across the country, CACs provide a coordinated response to victims of child abuse through multidisciplinary teams composed of representatives from community agencies and professionals involved with intervention, prevention, prosecution, and investigation systems that respond to child abuse cases. The goal of the Children's Advocacy Centers Membership and Accreditation Program is to ensure that CACs, multidisciplinary teams, and allied professionals have support and national standards to guide their response to cases of child abuse. Statutory Authority: Subchapter I of the Victims of Child Abuse Act (34 U.S.C. 20301 et seq.)
Categories: Law, Justice and Legal Services.
