The US Geological Survey, Fort Collins Science Center, is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research in the following research area: study of the overwintering and long-term demography of imperiled bumble bees. The research will focus on two, previously-widespread bumble bee species whose populations have declined precipitously over the past two decades: rusty patched bumble bee (RPBB – Bombus affinis) and western bumble bee (WBB – Bombus occidentalis).
