The US Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research in determining a suitable remote sensing methodology for detecting and characterizing land use change in the last several decades in the coastal tidal wetlands, producing maps and regional summaries for such changes for the conterminous United States (CONUS), and producing science papers for the research. The land use change that is important to detect and characterize includes developments such as roads, bridges, and other hardscaping events that have led to altering of tidal flows and salinity gradients in coastal tidal habitats.
