The goal of this initiative is to support research designed to develop models of pre-teen suicide that a.) explain risk states that transition to risk behaviors, including self-harm and suicide attempts; b.) identify protective factors that could be developed/enhanced to change the risk trajectory, both proximal and distal; and c.) identify intervention targets and timing, as well as scalable assessment approaches that have clinical utility for characterizing both risk/protective factors and suicide risk status and outcomes.
