CDC proposes to allocate funds to implement Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) CDC-RFA-DD23-2304, Addressing Birth Defects and Related Conditions, and Emerging Health Issues for Pregnant People and their Infants through National Partnerships. The project period will be five years, with five12-month budget periods and an anticipated project start date of September 30, 2023. The purpose of this NOFO is to improve clinical and public health outcomes for pregnant people and their infants and for people with birth defects and related conditions through strategic enhancement of partnerships. CDC seeks to sustain, expand, and bridge partner engagement with organizations and institutions that address the needs of these specific populations, those that reach clinicians and other healthcare professionals who are responsible for patient care, and public health professionals. Activities for this opportuntiy include but are not limited to (1) support CDC in the collection and translation of data and scientific findings to inform product development and best practices that reach these specific populations, clinicians, healthcare and public health professionals, (2) support CDC in the development, implementation, and dissemination of products such as communication materials, tools, and best practices that promote adoption of public health and clinical recommendation, interventions, and information for these specific populations, clinicians, healthcare and public health professionals; (3) and develop and participate in an integrated and collaborative clinical and public health network in support of improving clinical and public health outcomes for pregnant people and their infants and for people with birth defects and related conditions.
