The Ph.D. program in Economics and Finance is a 4-year full-time program providing an advanced specialization in Economics, Finance, and Econometrics to highly qualified students whose goal is a successful career in academia or in institutions that require strong financial, economic, and statistical skills.

The program offers a distinguished international faculty teaching a wide variety of graduate and doctoral courses in Economics and Finance. During the first year, students acquire a broad set of theoretical and methodological skills required in economics and finance. After choosing their field of specialization, students dedicate the second, third, and fourth years to research.

Our program is formally linked to the Rome Economics Doctoral program (https://www.redphd.it/), a Ph.D. program in Economics in collaboration with EIEF-Bank of Italy and the Dept. of Economics and Finance at LUISS. In addition to our faculty and classes, our students are encouraged to take RED courses for credit and interact with the best researchers in the broader Rome area.

The department of Economics and Finance is a lively intellectual and social environment with two weekly seminar series, period workshops and specific activities for doctoral students (brown bags, student workshops, job market training, weekly review sessions with the program coordinator and periodic social gatherings)

Analytical skills and intense preparation in mathematics are essential for a successful application.
