An established and forward-looking A/E firm with deep capabilities in integrated design and construction services is seeking a Vice President of Structural Engineering to lead and expand their structural practice in Boston, MA.
This is a high-impact leadership role within a firm recently strengthened by the consolidation of two powerhouse brands under a national parent company. With a 1,100-person footprint and offices across the Northeast, the company is investing in people, processes, and leadership to deliver on its reputation as a trusted advisor in the built environment.
As VP, you’ll have the opportunity to shape technical strategy, grow the Boston structural team, and lead projects that make a lasting mark on the region’s skyline and infrastructure.
🔨 Key Responsibilities:

Lead the structural engineering discipline across the Boston office, overseeing project execution and technical quality on a range of building and infrastructure projects

Provide mentorship and leadership to engineers and project managers while building a high-performing local team

Guide structural design across various building types, including institutional, commercial, transportation, and civic facilities

Oversee coordination across disciplines (MEP, civil, architecture, CM) and phases (from schematic design to construction administration)

Collaborate with internal leaders and business units to pursue strategic project opportunities and grow market presence

Serve as a technical expert and client-facing leader, representing the firm with public and private stakeholders

Drive innovation in analysis, systems selection, sustainability, and constructability

Contribute to proposals, fee development, and project financial performance
🎯 What You Bring:

Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)

PE license required; SE licensure or exam completion preferred

15+ years of structural engineering experience with at least 5 in a leadership role

Strong technical background in steel, concrete, masonry, and hybrid systems

Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex, large-scale projects

Familiarity with Massachusetts building codes, permitting, and local agency coordination

Proficiency in software such as Revit, RAM, RISA, ETABS, and Bluebeam
