Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Warrington Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum Benefits: Excellent company benefits, generous car allowance About the Role: Mech Electrics is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in building services. Our client is a well-known M&E contractor specializing in new build and refurbishment projects within the public and commercial sectors. Key projects include healthcare and educational developments (secured) and a major HQ & office project (pending) with M&E values ranging from £5 million to £20 million. Key Responsibilities: * Cost Management: Control and forecast project costs, ensuring financial accuracy. * Procurement: Manage tender processes, evaluate bids, and select subcontractors/suppliers. * Valuations & Final Accounts: Prepare interim valuations, agree variations, and finalize accounts. * Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with contractual terms, manage disputes/claims. * Financial Reporting: Provide regular updates on cost variances, budgeting, and project progress. * Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to project cost and schedule. * Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to achieve objectives. Qualifications & Experience: * Education: Degree-qualified in a relevant field. * Experience: Minimum 5 years in quantity surveying, specifically in M&E projects. * Sector Knowledge: Expertise in new builds, especially public sector & healthcare projects (preferred). Skills Required: * Strong understanding of construction contracts and law. * Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills. * Proficiency in MS Excel and cost management software. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
