About the Opportunity:
We’re representing a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy known for delivering complex transportation infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Their New York City office is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to take on a technical leadership role within their bridge design group.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to step into a client-facing role, manage key projects, and mentor junior staff, while working on some of the region's most critical bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead structural analysis and design for bridge superstructures (steel & prestressed concrete) and substructures (including pile foundations).

Manage field inspections for rehabilitation and reconstruction bridge projects, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.

Oversee preparation of construction documents including plans, details, quantity calculations, cost estimates, and technical specifications.

Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals during the construction phase.

Coordinate with internal design teams, clients, contractors, and public agencies to ensure seamless project delivery.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineering staff.

Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Professional Engineer (PE) license required (NY preferred).

8-12 years of bridge engineering experience, ideally within New York or surrounding states.

Proven experience in bridge design (rehabilitation & reconstruction), structural analysis, and construction support services.

Strong proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS, CSI Bridge, SAP2000).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Prior experience working with public agencies (e.g., NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ) is a strong plus.
