Senior Associate - Site/Civil Engineer

We have an immediate need for a Senior Associate Civil Engineer to join a growing municipal practice in Mineola.

This is a leadership-facing role for a NY PE who wants real influence — not just production work. You’ll serve as the go-to civil engineer for local towns and villages across Long Island, representing the firm in front of planning boards, public works departments, and municipal stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Serve as Lead Civil Engineer for local townships and villages across Long Island

• Oversee consultation, review, and preparation of:

  • Site plans

  • Roadway improvements

  • Drainage upgrades

  • Traffic safety initiatives

  • Streetscape projects

• Lead preparation of design plans, bid documents, and specifications

• Oversee construction inspections and project closeout

• Attend planning board meetings (evening attendance approx. once per week)

• Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals for new contracts and task orders

• Manage and mentor civil design staff and field inspectors

• Perform QA/QC plan reviews for compliance with Nassau County, Suffolk County, and NYSDOT standards

• Provide financial oversight, project staffing, and resource planning

• Represent the firm at local building departments, DPWs, and industry events

What They’re Looking For

• B.S. in Civil Engineering

• 10+ years of civil engineering experience

• New York PE required

• Strong municipal and site civil design experience

• Proven leadership and ability to mentor junior engineers

• Strong understanding of local codes and regulatory processes

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines
