Job Description
As a Researcher for Socio-Economic Studies, you will join the group in charge of IdeaSquare (ID), the innovation space of CERN under the Industry, Procurement, and Knowledge Transfer (IPT) Department.
The position is directly connected to the activities of the IdeaSquare Journal of Experimental Innovation (CIJ) and the coordination of student training programmes at IdeaSquare.
Your responsibilities:
- Conducting research on collaborative spaces and innovation.
- Organising student training programmes focused on collaborative innovation.
- Co-designing new collaborations related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) with scientific organisations.
The initial contract length of 6 months may be extended depending on performance, operational needs, and available resources, up to the maximum of 36 months.
Your profile
Skills:
- Experience with managing administrative and editorial processes for academic journals.
- Experience with organising online workshops for prospective authors.
- Experience with designing, organising, and delivering student training programmes or summer schools focused on creativity, ideation, and innovation methodologies.
The following would be considered as assets:
- Experience in working on topics related to societal challenges, particularly within student-driven initiatives in Living Labs or Maker-Spaces.
- A background in publishing peer-reviewed research, especially in fields related to education and/or innovation.
- Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a professional background in Education or Innovation (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
