Position Summary
A Research Assistant (Level 5) provides technical and research assistance to the research project/team. University Art Museums Australia (UAMA) is an organisation that represents art museums and galleries in the university sector and is responsible for university-owned art collections. It drives advocacy and research on behalf of its constituents to enrich their respective communities, build networks, and contribute to the nation’s cultural and intellectual life.
The Research Assistant will coordinate the 2025 survey using Qualtrics and extrapolate information about university art museums' contributions to their internal and external audiences and the arts and culture more broadly from the aggregated survey data.
This role will:
• Attend research meetings and training sessions and take minutes.
• Coordinate the migration of an existing survey form from an external Qualtrics system and make amendments as required.
• Distribute the survey to University Art Museums Australia (UAMA) members and perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis of survey results, including basic statistical analysis where required.
• Prepare and contribute data infographics for inclusion in reports, publications and presentations.
• Cooperate with all health & safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the psychosocial or physical health and safety of yourself or others.
A person engaged is generally expected to have the following skills and experience:
• Completion of a degree.
• Prior experience supporting a research project.
• Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong level of computer literacy with strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office software and other applications or systems/databases.
