A respected multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join its Bridge Engineering team in Boston, MA. This role offers the opportunity to work on transportation infrastructure and bridge projects, contributing to design, analysis, and project delivery alongside an experienced team of structural and transportation engineers.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with early bridge design experience who wants to deepen technical expertise while gaining exposure to project coordination and client interaction.
What You’ll Be Doing

Perform structural analysis and design for bridge and transportation structures, including conceptual and detailed design

Assist with bridge load ratings, structural evaluations, and rehabilitation design

Support project managers in delivering bridge design projects on schedule and within budget
-
Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, reports, and technical specifications

Provide guidance to junior engineers and designers as needed

Coordinate with clients, contractors, and public agencies throughout project phases

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and environmental engineers

Stay current with AASHTO standards, evolving bridge design practices, and industry technologies
What They’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Structural/Bridge Engineering a plus)

2–4 years of bridge engineering experience focused on transportation infrastructure
-
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
-
Experience with bridge design and analysis software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, LARSA, or similar tools
-
Strong understanding of AASHTO bridge design standards

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative engineering team

Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 depending on experience
