Lead a Growing Practice:
Serve as the senior civil leader for an established Charlotte office, partnering with firmwide leadership to execute strategic growth plans and expand market presence.
Own Client Relationships:
Actively develop new business while expanding existing client accounts—serving as a trusted advisor to developers, institutions, and public/private clients.
Drive Technical Excellence:
Provide technical leadership for site development projects including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion & sediment control from concept through permitting and construction.
Build & Mentor Teams:
Recruit, develop, and mentor engineers and designers, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture while guiding workforce planning and hiring initiatives.
Be the Go-To Civil Expert:
Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater design, and site utility planning while integrating geotechnical and environmental considerations into project delivery.
Influence the Bigger Picture:
Play an active role in proposal development, technical presentations, and strategic pursuits while helping shape regional and firmwide growth initiatives.
What you’ll need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

15+ years of site/civil engineering experience with a strong land development focus

North Carolina PE license required

Established network of regional clients and a proven track record in business development

Deep experience leading site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control from concept through completion

Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D

Experience managing and mentoring multidisciplinary teams

Active involvement in professional organizations preferred

Strong technical writing, proposal development, and communication skills
