PhD in Entrepreneurship and Management

Are you interested in entrepreneurship and management research? Our PhD Program is dedicated to promoting competitive, international-level research that makes a significant contribution to science and generates new and useful knowledge. This Program has been offered since 1978 as the doctoral program of the Department of Business Economics at the UAB. Over the last forty-five years, students have come from different countries all around the world.

Objectives 

The main objectives of the PhD Program in Entrepreneurship and Management (IDEM) are:

• To offer students an academic framework for scientific research in business and management with a focus on entrepreneurship.
• To allow students to develop their PhD thesis upon solid theoretical grounds and also address relevant empirical questions.
• To train students for rigorous research and to publish in highly ranked international journals.
• To prepare students for successful careers as researchers and to contribute to the development of knowledge and practice in the field.

Campus location

Research and training activities of the program take place in the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) campus, which is located in Bellaterra (Cerdanyola). This is an integrated campus where all facilities are close to each other, providing a pleasant research environment. The campus is well connected to Barcelona city centre by frequent train services and the motorway network. Students at UAB can benefit from easy access to other research centres in the Barcelona area.
