We’re working with a well-established multidisciplinary consulting firm that is looking to add a Project Engineer to their growing Highway / Traffic team in Boston, MA.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex roadway and transportation infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and supporting projects for state and local agencies. It’s a strong platform for an engineer who enjoys technical design but also wants to take on greater project leadership responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and contribute to roadway and highway design projects, including preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates

  • Perform geometric roadway design, grading, drainage coordination, and maintenance of traffic plans

  • Coordinate closely with civil/site, traffic, structural, environmental, and utility teams on multidisciplinary projects

  • Support project management tasks, including schedules, budgets, and deliverables

  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers and designers

  • Participate in client meetings and coordination with public agencies including DOTs and municipalities

  • Ensure designs comply with AASHTO and applicable state DOT standards

  • Assist with proposals, pursuits, and business development initiatives

What They’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • 6–8 years of roadway or highway design experience

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts

  • Experience working on DOT or federally funded transportation projects preferred

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation (OpenRoads experience is a plus)

  • Strong understanding of AASHTO and state roadway design standards

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment

  • Strong communication and coordination skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $115,000 – $155,000 depending on experience
