OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. With this solicitation, BJA seeks to fund a training and technical assistance provider (TTA), to work in partnership with five states, local, and/or tribal criminal justice agencies or systems ("jurisdictions") to address the use of fines and fees and ensure they are being imposed in a constitutional and nondiscriminatory way. The provider will work with sites to address common barriers to creating a more equitable justice system by addressing how sites use and apply fines and fees.
