The UCD School of Economics runs a thriving PhD programme that offers rigorous training and expert supervision. The programme is designed to prepare students for top-level jobs in academia, international institutions and the private sector. From day one, our PhD students are part of a vibrant research community at UCD and in the Greater Dublin Area.
The UCD School of Economics invites applications for the MLitt/PhD programme in Economics. We offer a structured 4-year programme, with one year of coursework followed by three years of research under close supervision. Our faculty covers all areas of economics, but has particular
strengths in applied microeconomics (labour, health, education), behavioural economics and international trade. The programme is aimed at preparing students for academic positions as well as positions in international organisations and governments. UCD offers a vibrant research environment. Together with the Geary Institute for Public Policy and the UCD Behavioural Science Center, the School runs multiple weekly seminar series and regularly organises workshops.
We offer several scholarships which cover living expenses (€22,000 p.a.) and a tuition fee waiver.
Deadline for applications is January 26, 2024.
