Gaetano Gaballo
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Macroeconomics team for a two-year term. The successful candidate will contribute to the Learning in Cycle project, funded by the European Research Council and led by Gaetano Gaballo, Associate Professor of Economics at HEC Paris and a Research Fellow at CEPR. The project focuses on various aspects of macroeconomic theory, empirical behavioral macro, business cycles, monetary economics, and search and matching. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment, with the potential for significant academic and professional growth.
The Learning in Cycle project aims to explore the implications of consumers' learning from actual prices about overall current and future inflation. The research seeks to provide groundbreaking contributions to the understanding of inflation and business cycles by integrating the learning-from-prices perspective into macroeconomic theory.
Prof. Gaballo's research has consistently pushed the boundaries of macroeconomic theory, and this project is an integral part of his ongoing efforts to explore the implications of consumers' learning from prices. By studying how consumers learn from prices and adjust their expectations, the project aims to shed light on the mechanisms driving business cycles and inflation dynamics. This innovative approach challenges traditional views that focus primarily on firms' pricing behaviors and emphasizes the importance of market information in shaping economic outcomes.
