he US Geological Survey’s National and Regional Climate Adaptation Science Center (NRCASC), is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to support the project entitled “George Mason University Fish and Wildlife Adaptation Fellowship Program.” The funding opportunity is being offered to develop a fellowship experience to expose students to the NRCASC and to support them in developing a policy-relevant product related to the impacts of climate change on fish and/or wildlife resources. This product should put science into action, applying scientific research to decision making about natural resources. In particular, projects should focus on interdisciplinary environmental science research. Projects may be related to the student’s own research, and if so, may present a unique opportunity to enhance and share research with a broader community of decision makers. Alternately, students may support pre-existing research initiatives identified by NRCASC researchers which could benefit from additional support to apply findings to resource management decisions. This unique opportunity will also offer a chance to interact with professionals within the USGS community and others outside of academia.
