Our client is a prestigious name in residential and commercial development. Their projects have won many awards and they have been continually successful throughout the UK.
Their office on the outskirts of Sevenoaks has an opening for a Senior Technical Coordinator to manage and coordinate all aspects of residential development projects from start to finish. You will serve as the key poc between consultants, site teams and internal departments, ensuring a smooth flow of technical information throughout the project.
You will play an essential role in shaping the direction of the department, with opportunities for career progression into roles such as Technical Manager. Experience of working on schemes with over 100 units is vital.
Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Overseeing the flow of technical information for each project, ensuring all relevant parties are kept informed and aligned.
- Leading the creation of feasibility designs for new developments, ensuring all technical elements are considered early on.
- Reviewing external technical reports, designs (including house type drawings, planning layouts, and landscaping), and critiquing them to ensure a coordinated and efficient approach.
- Providing technical support and guidance to other team members, ensuring high standards are met across the board.
- Managing the clearance of planning conditions and S106 obligations, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared on time.
- Briefing specialist consultants (e.g., ecology, archaeology, arboriculture) and coordinating the production of site-specific information to inform the planning and design process.
- Maintaining thorough coordination and communication with all consultants, driving the preparation and issuance of production information to an agreed programme, fee, and scope.
- Ensuring compliance with building regulations and clearing all related conditions.
About you:
- Extensive experience in a technical role within a residential housebuilding environment, having seen projects through from start to completion.
- A degree or relevant qualification (HND/HNC) in Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a similar construction-related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software with the ability to undertake in-house design work when required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- A comprehensive understanding of the legal processes involved in construction projects.
- A leadership style that encourages collaboration and drives engagement across teams.
