The Humanities and Sciences Division at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track teaching position in Economics. The successful candidate will teach college-level Economics courses to students in our technical, transfer degree, and non-degree programs.
Specific Duties:
- Deliver learner-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning, student involvement and student success, and by providing timely feedback to students.
- Provide each student with a syllabus that outlines student learning outcomes, clear course expectations, evaluations, topical outlines and timelines.
- Prepare all course materials and lessons.
- Develop real-life learning activities that align with the learning outcomes defined in the Department’s standardized syllabi.
- Participate in developing new labs and demonstrations as needed to enhance the student’s understanding of course material, and assist in the maintenance of the lab and demonstration equipment.
- Submit student grades, administrative reports, and conduct other required record-keeping in a thorough and timely manner.
- Maintain office hours in accordance with the Humanities and Sciences Division’s policy.
- Attend College, Departmental, and Divisional meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with 18 cohesive units of graduate coursework in Economics
- A minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience at a regionally accredited institution or its equivalent. Experience as a teaching or research assistant does not meet this qualification.
- Experience with or ability to learn and use the College’s Learning Management System (i.e., Blackboard, Brightspace, or similar).
- Experience in curriculum development
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Economics
- Three years of college-level Economics teaching experience (teaching or research assistant experience does not meet this qualification).
- Experience teaching in a two-year technical or community college.
- Experience teaching and developing online instruction

- Possess good organizational and planning skills.
