Hanna is a PhD in Economics candidate at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. She obtained her Research Master in Economics degree from the University of Glasgow and an undergraduate degree in International Economics from the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
In her PhD project, Hanna studies the political costs of a green transition in Europe. Specifically, she evaluates how decarbonization-induced job insecurity risks are linked to green voting. Her other academic interest is the political economy of populism, or why people vote for populist parties in Europe.
Between her Master’s and PhD, Hanna worked at an economic think tank in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she led the Human capital research area. Working closely with the public and private sectors, Hanna was helping the government shape labor market and education policies.
