Our recruitment team has been retained by a leading engineering consultancy to find a seasoned Senior Project Manager for their Highway Department in Newark, NJ. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of design documents for a wide range of transportation projects—from highway reconstruction to intersection and trail improvements.

• Manage project schedules, budgets and staffing, ensuring milestones are met.

• Collaborate with engineers in the transportation group and across other disciplines to deliver high‑quality solutions.

• Mentor and oversee a team of engineers, conducting technical reviews and ensuring adherence to design standards.

• Actively engage with clients and agencies, prepare proposals and support business development initiatives.

• Represent the company at industry functions and maintain strong professional relationships.

Your Background

• 10+ years of relevant transportation project experience.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

• Proven success delivering transportation improvements for local, county and state agencies (NJDOT experience is a plus).

• Deep knowledge of local and national design standards and traffic engineering principles.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
