Our recruitment team has been retained by a leading engineering consultancy to find a seasoned Senior Project Manager for their Highway Department in Newark, NJ. Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of design documents for a wide range of transportation projects—from highway reconstruction to intersection and trail improvements.

Manage project schedules, budgets and staffing, ensuring milestones are met.

Collaborate with engineers in the transportation group and across other disciplines to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Mentor and oversee a team of engineers, conducting technical reviews and ensuring adherence to design standards.

Actively engage with clients and agencies, prepare proposals and support business development initiatives.

Represent the company at industry functions and maintain strong professional relationships.
Your Background
-
10+ years of relevant transportation project experience.
-
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
-
Proven success delivering transportation improvements for local, county and state agencies (NJDOT experience is a plus).

Deep knowledge of local and national design standards and traffic engineering principles.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
