An important focus of the position is to develop and lead a research team focused on applying quantitative tools (e.g., statistics, machine learning, optimization, simulation) to healthcare delivery, healthcare operations and healthcare management as well as medical decision support. Your role is to build, extend and collaborate with hospitals and regional authorities, the healthcare industry, and interdisciplinary research teams. Through this, you will help to shape the faculty’s strategy in health-focused quantitative research and innovation.
We are seeking an academic leader with a strong publication record and proven success in acquiring external funding and demonstrated interest in healthcare applications. We are also looking for a potential leader with a collaborative mindset and a passion for bridging theory and real-world healthcare challenges.
Responsibilities and qualifications
As our new professor, you will be instrumental in advancing our department's teaching and research in healthcare analytics and management science.
We are looking for candidates in industrial engineering, operations research, computer science, economics, or a related field. You must have demonstrated track record with publications in recognised and leading journals based on experience in developing and applying advanced analytical methods. We focus on strong expertise in mathematical modelling, optimisation, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making.
As professor you will be responsible for the teaching of courses as well as course design and development. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
You are expected to take a lead role in teaching at the BEng, BSc, MSc and PhD levels.
You will be assessed against the responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria:

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
