IN ONE DAY ICSSR-SPONSORED NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON 

FINANCIAL INCLUSION, A POTENTIAL GAME CHANGER FOR VISION VIKSIT BHARAT*

It is our pleasure to inform you that a one-day ICSSR sponsored national conference on Financial Inclusion, A Potential Game Changer for Vision Viksit Bharat is going to be organised on 16th of January, 2025 (Thursday) at Prof. Anita Banerjee Memorial Hall, UG Arts Building, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. India's journey towards financial inclusion has been nothing short of remarkable. From humble beginnings to becoming a global role model, India now boasts one of the most advanced and inclusive digital payment systems in the world. This transformation has not only empowered millions but has also laid the foundation for a more equitable society. Financial inclusion stands as a cornerstone of Vision Viksit Bharat, shaping the nation’s aspirations for a prosperous and inclusive future. As we gather at this conference, we will explore India's achievements in financial inclusion, while addressing the challenges that remain, particularly in a country as diverse and complex as ours. Together, we aim to chart the next steps towards making financial access a reality for every Indian, ensuring that the benefits of growth and development reach all corners of the nation.

The organizers invite original contributions (both theoretical as well as empirical) for presentation in the conference. The submitted research papers are expected to offer insightful analysis and impactful policy implications on the broader theme of Financial Inclusion of the vulnerable population. Some of the indicative sub-themes related to the broad theme are the following:

1. 1. Access to Financial Services for Vulnerable Population:
2. (a) Financial literacy programmes targeting marginalised communities.
3. (b) Role of self-help groups (SHGs) and microfinance institutions (MFIs) in empowering women, rural and low-income populations.
4. (c) Financial inclusion for persons with disabilities: barriers and solutions.
5. (d) Intersection of gender and disability in financial access.
6. (e) Expanding access to savings and insurance products for vulnerable groups.
7. 2. Policy Interventions and Government Programmes:
8. (a) Assessment of government schemes for financial inclusion.
9. (b) Impact of social security measures on vulnerable populations.
10. (c) Role of fiscal transfers in state-led financial inclusion initiatives.
11. (d) Targeted subsidies and financial aids for economically weaker sections (EWS).
12. 3. Technological Innovations and Digital Financial Inclusion:
13. (a) Digital financial services for the unbanked.
14. (b) Impact of FinTech on financial inclusion of low-income population.
15. (c) UPI and e-wallet as tools for financial access.
16. (d) Barriers to digital financial literacy among vulnerable groups.
17. (e) Ensuring security and privacy for digital financial transactions.
18. (f) Role of AI and big data in identifying financially excluded individuals.

Note for the Authors

1. 1. Authors willing to contribute to this conference must send structured abstracts (in about 200 words) of their papers latest by December 10, 2024 (Tuesday) and the full length paper latest by December 31, 2024 (Tuesday).
2. 2. All submissions must essentially include contact details of the corresponding author.
3. 3. A provisional notification of acceptance will be sent to those authors by December 12, 2024 whose abstracts will be shortlisted. However, the final confirmation for paper presentation in the conference will be sent only after the receipt of their full length papers.
4. 4. Please email all submissions (structured abstracts as well as completed papers) in MS Word format, preferably in Times New Roman Font, 12-point size and 1.5-line spacing to icssrvvb.juvd@gmail.com  with a copy to vikas.dixit@jadavpuruniversity.in and rilina.basu@jadavpuruniversity.in within the specified deadlines.
5. 5. All contributions will undergo a peer review, and authors of the selected papers (not exceeding 25 in number) will be invited for presenting their papers in the conference.
6. 6. Authors of excellent work quality will be encouraged to get their works published in some reputed journal and/or an edited volume with possible support from the organisers.
7. 7. Please note that there is no registration fee for this conference. Paper presenters will be provided free accommodation and food facilities from January 15, 2025 afternoon till January 17, 2025 morning.
